"Ukikaa Mbali na Mungu Unakosa Neema Zake" is the message this unique print brings forward, which translates to "When you stay far from God you miss His blessings".
From bright African print shirts to stylish African print pencil skirts, you can design an item of clothing your way with our unique unstitched hand-printed khanga collection. If you are looking for something a bit different and colorful, our range of comfort 100% cotton khanga fabric is the ideal choice.
Khanga is usually bought in a pair (2 pieces joined together) and needs to be cut and sewn along the raw edge to separate them before being worn. Khanga is extremely popular in East Africa and is worn daily by millions of women.
Once you’ve selected what items of clothing you would like from our African fashion wear, choose design elements that reflect your own personality! Whether you want bold and colorful or slightly more understated, there are several options to choose from!
The khanga is a colorful fabric and light, worn by women and occasionally by men throughout the African region. It is a piece of printed cotton fabric about 60 x 45 inches (uncut about 120 x 45 inches), often with a border along all four sides (called pindo in Swahili), and a central part (mji) which differs in design from the borders.
They are sold in pairs, which can then be cut and hemmed to be used as a set. The kanga is much more than a clothing piece, it can be used as a skirt, head-wrap, apron, pot-holder, beach wrap, and much more.
Due to the colorful and bold patterns, the designs can bring life to a party and help you to stand out from the crowd. They are preferred to be hand-washed or using mild detergent.
